I created this expense tracker for myself while unemployed in Asia. I wanted to see how much money was being directed to potentially uneccesary areas, such as coffee. Having tried a number of other expense trackers and budgeting tools over the years I found a couple of issues:
Too many steps to recording an expense. This was a huge barrier for me, too many clicks!
Too naggy. I want to keep an eye on my expenses, but still want to have fun. "You have $13.26 left today" might stop me from hiring a scooter to ride up to the viewpoint and enjoy a beautiful sunset, and that would be a bummer.
I made Budget Smuggler for me, if you like it, epic. If enough people like it that I can make some scratch then there will be more cool features coming. And regarding the coffee, yeah, some days I have spent up to 1/3 of my daily budget on bean fuel. With this app I can find other places in my life to reduce costs so maybe that can finally creep up to my goal of a 1/2.
